 Summer is Here…..
Let Your Life Makeover Begin!!

We all love the change of seasons and who doesn’t love summertime. Summer is the season where we scale back, relax, enjoy the beautiful weather and rejuvenate our soul.  Just as seasons change, so do our lives.  Our lives consist of seven areas and as a life coach, I help people look at their life through the Whole Life Model.

These seven areas make up who you are and how you show up everyday of your life.  As a life coach, I help people discover what area of their life they would like to make over and improve upon.  Most of us stay in the status quo of discontentment, financial worry, boredom, loneliness etc... and are not willing to examine the areas of our whole life model more closely.  When a person is willing to work with a life coach, they are ready to live a life of happiness, financial security, fulfillment, satisfaction, good health, and freedom of choice.

Take a moment to rate each area of the whole life model above from 1 to 10, with (1) meaning you are least satisfied and (10) meaning you are the most satisfied.  Be honest with yourself so you can determine if working with a life coach would be useful to you.  How would you know?  If you scored a 7 or less in any area of the model, you would benefit to speaking to a life coach.  You owe it to yourself to live a life of satisfaction and joy each day.  Summer is a great time to have fun, rejuvenate your inner voice and reclaim your life!

How to Create Happiness

in Your Life

As children, our parents may have told us to “be happy in life.”  Although their intentions may have been good, our parents may never have taken the time to show us how to achieve happiness.  Now as adults, many of us ask the question, “What will make me happy?”

As a life coach, I often speak to clients who are disconnected with their life or themselves.  Before one can be happy, you have to be willing to be quiet, listen to your inner voice and allow your soul to hear it.  Sounds tough or too time consuming - right?  Not really.  Sitting quietly for five minutes a day will simply allow you the opportunity to listen to your inner voice.  This inner voice will speak to you either through intuition or signs that are around you.  Just as we schedule time to exercise our physical body, we must schedule time to exercise our mind.  By exercising our minds, we begin to see a clearer picture of our purpose in life and we begin to see “who we are” rather than “what we do”.

Today, most people are so busy getting from one place to another that they forget to enjoy the here and now.  Working with a life coach helps people be present in order to discover themselves and take a journey to a “new you”.  Meeting with a life coach is a time for you to connect to yourself, discover the truths, and to be willing to look inside.  You will discover areas that need improvement and recognize others that are fine just the way they are.  You are then able to acknowledge your greatness and allow yourself the opportunity to forgive yourself and others in order to move forward.

Try this exercise:  Take out a piece of paper or small notebook.  On the paper, number the lines from one to twenty-five.  Now take a moment and reflect on what you have accomplished this year and write these accomplishments down on the paper.  The accomplishments can be big or small - list them with no judgment, accepting them for what they are.  This is a wonderful exercise to do as we begin a new year.  At first, it may seem difficult but allow your mind to be positive and accepting.  I can almost guarantee that you will fill this page very quickly once you allow yourself to reach within your soul, listen to your heart and love yourself.  Next, place a star next to the five that were of the utmost importance in your life.  What did you discover?

That is right….that you accomplished much more than you set out to do back in January 2009.  Open your mind, heart and soul and you will receive the signs that will lead you to “your happiness”.  Meditate, meditate and meditate…….it works, it works, it works…..try it and your world will be a different and peaceful place.  I guarantee.

Coaches are not just for athletes……

Coaches can change your life!!!

Naturally, when you think of a coach, you immediately think of an athletic coach such as a football coach, basketball coach, baseball coach, and so on…. What do you call a person who sets up a partnership with a client to bring about positive change in one’s life?  You’ve got it…..a Life Coach!

A life coach partners with people to help them develop and create their ideal life.  People commit to making a positive change while working with a life coach.  Lately, our world seems uncertain and people seem disconnected to one another.  Time spent with a life coach offers the opportunity for people to reconnect with themselves and discover “something inside” that has been lying dormant.

Life coaches are quiet leaders who speak with intent.  They are trained to be succinct, specific, non-judgmental and encouraging when working with a client.  A coach provides a foundation for real change to occur in a person’s life.  Some people are ready to work with a life coach and some are not.  You have to be willing to look within yourself and to answer the question, “What do I want?”  When you allow yourself to nourish your inner being and learn to put yourself first, then you are ready to create the life you deserve.

Life coaching sessions are usually by telephone and are one hour long.  Clients contact a life coach when they are ready to commit to making a change, begin a journey of self examination and ultimately create the life they deserve.  Why not “believe in yourself” and try it!!
